Summary and Explanation
p27KIP1 is a cell cycle regulatory mitotic inhibitor of Cdk activity. p27KIP1 is a candidate-tumor suppressor gene, and has been proposed to function as a possible mediator of TGF beta induced G1 arrest. p27 is up-regulated in response to antimitogenic stimuli. The increased protein expression of p27 results in cellular arrest by binding to cyclin/Cdk complexes such as cyclin D1/Cdk4.
Low p27 antibody expression has been associated with unfavorable prognosis in Renal-cell Carcinoma,Colon Carcinoma, Small Breast Carcinomas, Non-small-cell Lung Carcinoma, Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Multiple Myeloma, lymph node metastases in Papillary Carcinoma of the Thyroid, and a more aggressive phenotype of Carcinoma in the Cervix.
Presentation
p27 antibody is a mouse monoclonal antibody derived from cell culture supernatant that is concentrated, dialyzed, filter sterilized and diluted in buffer pH 7.5, containing BSA and sodium azide as a preservative.
