Summary and Explanation
Prostate secretory protein of 94 amino acids (PSP94) also called Beta-microseminoprotein (MSMB), is one of the three predominant proteins secreted by the prostate gland and found in human seminal fluid along with prostate-specfic antigen and prostatic specific acid phosphatase. Using exogenous MSMB, in vitro and in vivo studies indicate that MSMB may have several anti-tumor effects on prostate tumor cells.
PSP94 antibody expression is high in normal prostate epithelial cells, but is decreased in prostate cancer cells. Studies have shown that PSP94 (MSMB) is a strong independent factor indicating favorable outcome after radical prostatectomy for localized prostate cancer.
Presentation
PSP94 antibody (MSMB antibody) is a rabbit monoclonal antibody derived from cell culture supernatant that is concentrated, dialyzed, filter sterilized and diluted in buffer pH 7.5, containing BSA and sodium azide as a preservative.
